Traditional funerals
A traditional celebrant led funeral is typically held at either a crematorium, natural burial ground or cemetery. You can choose to weave in spiritual or symbolic elements, eulogies, readings or religious blessings and prayers. You can have the ceremony after the committal at a different venue if you choose.
-
Celebration of Life
So many people are choosing to celebrate not at the crematorium, but with a full Celebration of Life. This can be held at a ‘traditional’ venue, but they can be held anywhere.
There are no time constraints for a ceremony like this and you can have as many pictures as you'd like. Maybe you want to celebrate with a party, music, dancing, good food and wine.
The ceremony I create will give people the time and space to say all that they need to.
Contact me with your ideas and we can make that happen. Maybe you held a non-attendee cremation and wanted a less formal event. This is perfect for that.

Celebration of Life Planning
As well as the script I can plan the whole event for you. From their favourite food, the personal decorations, memory books, photos, music - I can take that all off your hands so you can concentrate on the person that you loved without the stress of the event planning.
Memorial ceremonies can be held at any time after the original service. This is lovely for people who may not have been able to attend the day or there are just so many people who wanted to come that couldn’t. Your loved one may have passed during the pandemic and you want to celebrate them properly.
This can be at your home, a private venue, a special, meaningful place- your choice. Contact me and we can discuss all the possibilities to celebrate with colour and love.
-
Remembrance Ceremonies
This can take place at any time. Maybe you have a milestone of a loved one you want to mark - an 18th birthday or a 5-year anniversary. They can take place anywhere and include whatever you want that celebrates their legacy and all that they were.
-
Child loss
This service will be free. I will create the ceremony that you need to help you through this awful time. We can craft a service where everyone who has been affected by the loss of your little one can have time and space to grieve together.
-
Baby loss
This service will be free. If your baby or babies have died as a result of miscarriage, termination for medical reason, stillbirth or neonatal death, I will be there to help you create the service that holds them in your heart.
-
Ashes
Whether you want the ashes kept at home, interred (buried) or scattered somewhere that means something to you (with the landowner’s permission) I will create a ceremony that honours them. If you have had a direct cremation you may want to combine this with a Celebration of Life. Whatever you need.
A Living Wake is a celebration you may want to have if you know you have a terminal or life limiting condition. It is amazingly joyous. The first time I went to one I was quite nervous. but there was no need to be. It’s a time to make promises and say everything you want to and see the people who mean so much to you. You can lead it yourself or contribute in any way you want. For an idea of what this involves I would recommend watching Grayson Perry's Rites of Passage on Channel 4 episode 1.

End of Life Planning
You may want to plan ahead so you can make all the decisions about your own ceremony and funeral arrangements. Contact me to discuss your ideas.
